B.Sc. Industrial Engineering (University of Miami) Masters of Science in Integrated Quality Systems (University of Birmingham), Ph.D. – Development of TQM Implementation Framework for small businesses (University of Birmingham). A Registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a former Senior Member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ). Board Member of APIEMS.

Currently serving in Meiji University, Tokyo, as Specially Appointed Professor at the Graduate School of Business Administration, from April 2020. Completed tenure in UTM as Professor of Quality Engineering and Management. 1983-1984 training in Body Assembling in Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, Japan. Upon completion, became part of pioneer team in Proton (Malaysian National Car) in the Body Assembling Section, and in the Quality Control Department. Switched to academic life to UTM in 1990 and diverse experience including supervision of research projects at PhD and Master level in topics relating to Quality Management, Robust Quality Engineering, Sustainability, Lean Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineering.

Published widely in national, international journals and conferences. He has given key note addresses in some conferences as well. He has given training to a number of organizations including Proton, IWK, Hitachi Chemical, Mitsubishi in various topics of Quality Engineering, ISO 9001, Industrial Engineering, and Project Management in Malaysia and also for Sudanese engineer.
